Mastering Excel: Introduction to Excel's Power Query Editor
Suitable for intermediate level Excel users, this will take your data transformation to a new level.
ITV’s The Chase
You will be provided with 4 years of statistics from ITV’s The Chase, with Bradley Walsh.
The original dataset is- to put it mildly – a mess :)… like so many datasets we are all given, to try and make sense of.
This 2 hour tutorial will introduce you to data transformation using the ‘sub-program’ within Excel called called Power Query Editor.
Part 1: Clean / Transform / Summarise
Using Power Query Editor, you’ll identify KPIs, then clean, transform and make sense of the the original data
Part 2: Visualisation
Having summarised the dataset, you’ll then turn your summaries into an interactive dashboard like the example below*
(*please note, the example below is just saved as an image, but using the Slicer you could filter by – in this case – a specific Chaser)
At the risk of sounding ever so big-headed :)… we ask students for feedback after each and every lesson… and this lesson has the most favourable student feedback of all.

Example dashboard
You'll learn design techniques, and how to create simple interactive dashboards using Excel.
